This L.A. band's previous album was titled More Adventurous, and this one delivers on that promise. As well as flicking at a Fleetwood Mac-worthy intraband breakup, heretofore sweet singer Jenny Lewis spends four songs exploring sex and all its grimy contradictions. It's shocking but honest and witty too. Musically, the band wrings melodies out of its trademark guitar hooks but adds synth riffs and horns to make a very memorable mix.
