Armed Palestinians march in support of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in Gaza. Arafat showed his defiance of Israeli threats with a public appearance telling several thousand supporters that Israel can never get rid of him. Arafat spoke after Ariel Sharon said he was no longer bound by an earlier promise to Washington not to harm the Palestinian leader
