Some counterfeit $100 bills are such good fakes that investigators, like the ones shown here in Tokyo, can only distinguish so-called supernotes — which are believed to be made in North Korea — from legitimate U.S. currency by comparing enlargements that are 400 times bigger than the actual bills.
