A Final Goodbye
Discovery casts off from the space station on March 7, 2011, wrapping up its final mission, during which a dozen cosmonauts and astronauts aboard the shuttle and in the station worked together for more than a week. In this image, the shuttle has yet to stow its maneuvering arm, close its cargo bay doors and otherwise secure itself for reentry.
