President's Prayer Club, c. 1990
During the Administration of George H.W. Bush, his Vice President, Dan Quayle, was frequently ridiculed for his perceived incompetence and confusing and humorous public statements. These buttons were produced by a tongue-in-cheek organization called the President's Prayer Club that sold T-shirts and buttons with the motto "Keep George Healthy" — warning that Quayle would be the next in line should Bush fall ill or die in office.
