The annual North American International Auto Show got underway in Detroit this week and carmakers artfully hid the pick up trucks and put more emphasis on the technology now being used to make vehicles that get 40 miles per gallon more common and bring high tech features into the vehicles. "This isn't the old industrial model," said Ford Motor Co. executive chairman William Clay Ford Jr., who noted today designing and building cars today requires both the latest in science and technology.
