The Mars500 isolation facility outside of Moscow, Russia, June 3, 2010, in a photo taken before six crew members were sealed inside. Six men were locked inside the facility, cut off from the outside world for the next one-and-a-half years, in an unprecedented experiment to simulate the effects of a mission to Mars.
