Gilad Shalit Freed in Israeli-Palestinian Prisoner Swap

Shalit, held in captivity by the Islamist group Hamas since June 2006, was handed over to Israeli officials on Tuesday. More than 1,000 Palestinians are due to be freed in the prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Hamas with the first 477 are being released on Tuesday.
