President Obama greets House pages and others on Capitol Hill prior to delivering his State of the Union speech. The House has said that the page program is an unnecessary expense in an age when most business is conducted by texting and email. Though the pages will no longer work in the House, they will not disappear entirely; the Senate will still have them.
