NASA's New Mars Rover 'Curiosity'

The Mars Rover Curiosity, June 3, 2011
NASA / JPL-Caltech

Simulation
Curiosity is readied for tests that will analyze whether or not it can perform its tasks in the Martian environment. In this March 2010 photo, the test chamber's door is still open. Once it is closed, a near-vacuum environment will be established, and the chamber's walls will be flooded with liquid nitrogen to lower its temperature to minus 130 degrees Celsius (minus 202 degrees Fahrenheit).
