New Yorkers Celebrate the Legalization of Gay Marriage

Thousands of New Yorkers poured into the streets in downtown New York City when news spread that the Marriage Equality Act had won approval from Albany lawmakers on June 24, 2011. Because New York allows non-residents to get marriage licenses, the state expects to see a big bump in wedding travel as gay couples come to take advantage of the new law.
