Less than four years after 9/11, Islamic extremists struck London not with planes but with backpacks. On the morning of July 7, 2005, four suicide bombers detonated their explosives on three subway trains and a double-decker bus. The terrorists three of whom had been born in Britain killed 52 people and injured hundreds more.
