Iraqi-born Zaha Hadid completed her first mammoth project in China in early 2011. Though she's currently working on other projects in Chengdu, Beijing and Shanghai, the opera house was her first foray into the country. The Guangzhou Opera House joins a growing trend of shifting developments outside Beijing into provincial China.
