A rebel fighter fires a cannon during a conflict near Ras Lanuf, Libya during clashes between heavily armed rebels and forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi. The fighting took place on the outskirts of a key oil port on the Mediterranean Sea. The Libyan army responded with artillery fire from land and air.
