Reports from within the country say that groups of heavily armed militiamen and mercenaries from other African countries have sprayed machine-gun fire into the streets. The death toll is impossible to determine; estimates range from dozens to hundreds. The men in Benghazi who presented this man claimed he was an African mercenary.
