At the Olympics 2000 in Sydney

Jamaica's Merlene Ottey has had a long career — she took bronze in the 100-m at Los Angeles in 1984 and silver in Atlanta in 1996 — and has won 34 medals at major international championships, including seven Olympic medals. She lives alone in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to be near her trainer. When Bell asked her what she did in her spare time she replied, "Not much. I just like to hang out in coffee shops."
