A high density of bombs can be found in Xieng Khouang province, shown on the map above, with markings indicating areas that have been cleared. The map hangs on the wall of the Lao National Unexploded Ordnance Programme (UXO Lao), an organization established by the Laotian government with the help of U.N. agencies to reduce the dangers of unexploded ordnance.
