The Martin Jetpack
Described as the planet's first practical jet pack, the Martin Jetpack — named for its New Zealand inventor Glenn Martin — houses a gasoline-fueled, 200-horsepower-engine that turns a pair of carbon-Kevlar rotors. It holds 30 minutes of fuel and will sell for $100,000. Field tests begin in 2011.
