The vogue for all things Greek infected fashion after the war as well. The Paris designer Vionnet was a pioneer of classically-styled draped garments like this one. "My inspiration comes from Greek vases," she said, "from the beautifully clothed women depicted on them, or even the lines of the vase itself."
