Treasures from the Forbidden City

Throne
This piece is one of four carved wooden thrones in the Belvedere of Viewing Achievements. Each of the four occupied a separate and distinctly decorated throne room located on one of the four sides of a central core, each facing outward towards one of the four points of the compass. This one is inlaid with bamboo, jade and semi-precious stones.
