Out of a crystalline blue sky, the two passenger jets struck the two towers of the World Trade Center one by one, each setting off a spectacular fireball and dooming thousands working inside. That Tuesday morning ripped us all from our routines and shoved us deep into a state of panic, fear and utter grief.
