Remembering 9/11: The Evolution of Ground Zero

The fourth anniversary of 9/11 unfolded in the shadow of another national tragedy: Hurricane Katrina had just completed its destructive journey across the Gulf states when America turned its eyes once again to the WTC site, now regularly referred to as Ground Zero. This year, the recitation of the names of the victims, by this time an annual rite, was carried out by brothers and sisters of the victims. In past years, parents and children had read the names of their lost loved ones.
