30 Mosques in 30 Days: An American Trip
Bassam Tariq
Day 20: Boise, Idaho
Fahruddin, 21, is the visiting imam at the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Boise. He was playing soccer at a nearby field before arriving at the mosque, where above, he stands in the parking lot. The Islamic Community of Bosniaks' mosque in Boise used to be an abandoned church. The local Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims) bought the property and converted it without any help from external contractors. "Inside the mosque," Bassam wrote, "in their little library, you are greeted by five large photo albums. In those photo albums you will see the meticulous photo documentation of the entire mosque. It is incredible."
