Family
Paloma is one of seven children. Her mother, overworked, poorly paid and a victim of abuse, decided to surrender her four daughters to a shelter when Paloma was about 10, fearing her tendency to abuse the girl and her siblings. The children maintain contact with their mother, visiting on weekends and holidays. Above, Paloma watches TV with her sisters at their mother's house in August 2010.
