A Budding Friendship
At first, West didn't follow anyone on Twitter. Then he chose a random, unsuspecting man named Stephen Holmes, who lived in Coventry, England. Thousands of West fans began to follow Holmes, who said he didn't want to be famous. So West un-followed him. His next choice was a little more comfortable with fame: Justin Bieber. The rapper and the teen idol have been exchanging Twitter messages ever since. "Maybe we can do something together," West tweeted, referring to Bieber, on Aug. 15, 2010. "Me, You and Raekwon." Within four days, they seem to have made that happen. "Finishing [Justin Bieber's] Runaway Love remix too ... don't know when they gonna drop it but Raekwon's verse is crazy!!!" West tweeted on Aug. 19.
