This Kyrgyz child's family traveled from their homeland to work on a farm near Dostyk. Citing unannounced audits conducted by Philip Morris Kazakhstan from Jan. 1, 2009, through Oct. 31, 2009, Nixon wrote, "We recorded 21 incidents of child labor in 2009. In each case, farmers who were using child labor were warned that repeat incidences would result in termination of his contract with PMK." Of the 21, a single farm was documented as a repeat offender; its contract was terminated.
