As a star player, Maradona received endless superlatives, including being chosen as the FIFA Player of the Century, but he is most frequently remembered for scoring one of the most infamous goals in World Cup history. During Argentina's 1986 World Cup quarterfinal match against England, he scored on a handball that was not called, a play known as the "Hand of God," en route to a 2-1 victory.
