Doctors in Apac may see as many as 3,000 patients a week, and even 5,000 in the rainy season. Malaria affects half the world's countries, but seven of them the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, southern Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda account for two-thirds of the cases, and Nigeria a quarter by itself.
