This red brick Victorian Gothic-style building, completed in 1886, hosted the funeral of congregant Frederick Douglass in 1895 and Rosa Parks a century later. It has suffered from years of water infiltration, caused in part by nearby construction projects, leading the congregation to launch a national capital campaign to rescue and restore it.
