Meet Supreme Court Nominee Elena Kagan

Solicitor General
On Jan. 5, 2009, then President-elect Obama nominated Kagan to fill the position of Solicitor General. She was confirmed by the Senate with a 61-31 vote. Responsibilities for the job include arguing on behalf of the government before the Supreme Court.
