Tom Thurston
Bill Harley
A highly regarded author of children's books and a regular contributor to NPR's All Things Considered, Harley, whose sons are now in their 20s, has been called the Mark Twain of family entertainment for his gentle, witty music and storytelling on topics like vegetable phobia, car-radio fighting and getting locked in an elementary school bathroom. Since starting out in 1975, the wry dean of the genre has made 22 albums for kids and won myriad awards, including two Grammys.
