Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens

From Right to Left
Although a Republican President appointed him, Stevens has led the liberal wing of the court. The justice has long seen his legal rulings as separate from his politics. In a 2007 interview, he said, "I don't think of myself as a liberal at all. I think as part of my general politics, I'm pretty darn conservative."
