The Beatles' Final Year

Get Back
The force that initially drove the Beatles to the recording studio in 1969 was a desire to make an album that would evoke the rock 'n' roll that had inspired them in the 1950s. To that end, John proposed disposing of the complex editing and overdubbing techniques they had used to make Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and The White Album and instead putting the songs down on tape live as they happened. Excited by the prospect, the group invited filmmaker Michael Lindsay-Hogg to document the entire thing.
