A Brief History of Abbey Road Studios

In early 2010, rumors began to circulate that cash-strapped EMI, the owner of the studio, was considering selling it. On February 21, the company issued a statement saying that the building was not for sale, but that it was seeking financial help to save it. Two days later, the building was declared an historic landmark, which should help preserve it from developers by making it extremely difficult for its exterior to be altered in any dramatic way.
