Athens, 2004
Icelandic singer Bjork is no stranger to funky fashion. (Remember the white swan dress she wore at the 2001 Oscars?) At the Athens Summer Olympics opening ceremony in 2004, she wowed fans worldwide with "Oceania," a song she had written especially for the occasion. Even more stunning than the song was her dress, which unfurled over the heads of the athletes in the audience as she sang to reveal a 10,000-sq.-ft. billowy cloth map of the world.
