From 1981 to 2008, the uniforms for the scouts were designed by fashion icon Oscar de la Renta. It was a two-year project in which he donated designs for Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Explorers and both male and female adult Scouts. The current uniform has been updated with a sleeve pocket to hold an iPod.
