David Levine's TIME covers

Levine was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.; his father ran a small garment shop while his mother was politically active, with communist sympathies. Levine's own political views leaned far left as well. For this 1968 cover, he drew the two contenders for that year's GOP nomination.
