Shepard Fairey
Accused of: defacing property
The street artist best known for creating the Obama "Hope" poster, Fairey has been arrested more than a dozen times for posting his art on surfaces like railroad trestles and building sheds. In February, Boston police arrested him in connection with an image he posted in 2000 on property owned by the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. Fairey pleaded guilty in July to vandalism charges and agreed to pay $2,000 to a local graffiti-cleanup group and serve two years probation.
