Accused of: conspiracy to furnish controlled substances
The boyfriend and attorney of Anna Nicole-Smith, Stern, along with two doctors, was arrested in March in connection with the model's death in 2007. Authorities say Stern and the doctors devised a plan to use fake names so Smith could be prescribed thousands of pills, including antidepressants, sleeping pills, methadone and other medications. Smith died in 2007 from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. Stern pleaded not guilty.
