The numerous materials used in the manufacture of computer monitors follow a variety of paths back to the marketplace. The high density plastic used to contain the cathode ray tubes is melted and used for injection molding applications that can, in turn, be used for a wide variety of products. The copper from the circuit boards can find its way into plumbing, telephone wiring and newer circuit boards, while the glass can be cleaned and stripped of lead, then used to make newer CRT's.
