The first U.S. President to chair the U.N. Security Council, Obama in September 2009 pressed for Iran and North Korea to fully comply with the body's resolutions. He said, "The next 12 months will be absolutely critical in determining whether this resolution and our overall efforts to stop the spread and use of nuclear weapons are successful. And all nations must do their part to make this work."
