Appreciation: The Photos of Irving Penn

While on assignment in Peru in the late forties, Penn traveled on his own to Cuzco and photographed the people living in the mountainous region in their native dress, using the same techniques that he had employed to photograph celebrities and models. He would continue this kind of work for several decades, traveling to Morocco in 1971, above and the South Pacific.
