Educated in England and married to William John Robert Cavendish, Marquess of Hartington, Kathleen enjoyed great popularity in the London social scene. After her husband was killed in the war, she took up with another titled Briton, Earl Peter Wentworth-FitzWilliam. The two of them were killed in a plane crash while en route to a vacation in the south of France.
