The Waiting Game
An Afghan electoral worker waits for voters inside a mosque in use as a polling station in Kabul. Official preliminary results aren't due until 2 September, with the full final results expected on 17 September though there might be earlier indications of the results. However, if the winning candidate fails to win more than 50% of the vote, a second-round run-off will take place in October.
