If he had to be called away from vacation by work, at least Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero chose the right place to do it. In early August, Zapatero temporarily broke off his holiday in King Juan Carlos' luxury home on the Canary Island of Lanzarote to console victims of fires ravaging neighboring La Palma.
