Temporary Taggers
Street art tends toward the ephemeral, lasting only until a cop or cleaning crew comes by to tear it down. But the tagging duo James Powderly and Evan Roth takes transience to a new level, decorating walls with a unique form of temporary, high-tech graffiti they call laser tagging: instead of painting, they use a laser pointer. Their canvases of choice are skyscrapers or monuments, and their efforts have found audiences in person and on YouTube. Since they got their start in 2007, the pair have aimed their projectors at edifices from Italy to Hong Kong and been featured in an exhibition at New York City's Museum of Modern Art.
