Teams of villagers unload provisions to be distributed according to lists drawn up by local village committees favoring the most vulnerable. In the period after the 2008 confrontation with Russia, the ICRC has distributed food and household items to nearly 20,000 people in 27 Georgian villages bordering on South Ossetia.
