Doctors and rescue workers rush by a collapsed building in the center of L'Aquila during the critical hours after the quake, to attend to those injured. Deaths have also been reported in the surrounding towns and villages of Castelnuovo, Poggio Picenze, Tormintarte, Fossa, Totani and Villa Sant'Angelo.
