A Brief History of the Greenbrier Resort

Tea and Crumpets
Spas and sports aside, The Greenbrier has long been known for its first-class food and top-notch service. Dinners, served by waiters in forest green livery, come in six courses; the most elaborate of which are set with 24-karat-gold vermeil. Its famously distinguished afternoon tea service is another highbrow perk of Southern hospitality that dates back to the 1930s, when the resort's staff first began serving refreshments in the main lobby each day at 4 o'clock.
