On the Rocks
The Castle iceberg, on the Antarctic Peninsula, is frozen by a flashlight photograph taken in June 1911. Digitalization of the incredible archive has been going since 2007. The team faced many challenges as many photos were terribly damaged, which meant that they had to be restored using state-of-the art equipment. Indeed, some of the images are now so fragile they will never be publicly displayed.
